Users in India can now buy the products of the Indian e-commerce giant JioMart through WhatsApp.
But, now, we can already affirm that that day is getting closer, because we have just learned that WhatsApp is already testing a function that will allow you to make the purchase from its platform.
WhatsApp also wants to become your online supermarket
Meta has recently announced through his official blog that users in India can now buy the products of the Indian e-commerce giant JioMart through WhatsApp.
Thus, WhatsApp customers in India can browse the supermarket catalog, add products to your cart and complete the order without leaving the messaging client app. In this sense, we must emphasize that payments are managed by the local system Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
In this way, to place an order in JioMart through WhatsApp you simply have to start a chat with the online shopping platform account.
Regarding this new feature of WhatsApp, Mukesh Ambani, President and CEO of Reliance Industries, the parent company of JioMartstated the following:
“Our vision is to propel India as the world’s leading digital society. When Jio and Meta platforms announced our partnership in 2020, Mark and I shared a vision to bring more people and businesses online and create truly innovative solutions that will add convenience to the daily lives of all Indians. An example of an innovative customer experience that we are proud to develop is the first end-to-end shopping experience with JioMart on WhatsApp. The JioMart experience on WhatsApp furthers our commitment to enabling a simple and convenient way to shop online for millions of Indians.”
It seems quite logical that the messaging platform has started testing this new feature in India, as it is the country with the most active WhatsApp users globally500 million a month, and everything seems to indicate that little by little it will spread to more regions of the world.
