If you have a mobile updated to Android 13, you can now download this free app to be able to change the brightness of the flashlight to your liking.
Last March we learned that Android 13 would allow us to adjust the brightness level of the flashlight of mobile phones. The final version of Android 13 is now available for the google-pixelwhich has allowed us to know that Google has not yet integrated a native function to take care of leveling the brightness of the flashlight.
Fortunately, this problem has a solution called Flashlight Tiramisu. Is about a free application that is responsible for offering this same function, that is, adjusting the brightness level of the flashlight. If your mobile already has Android 13, you only have to download this app to be able to change the intensity of the phone’s backlight. Next, we know how to download it and how to use it.
Flashlight Tiramisu, the app to adjust the brightness of the flashlight
“getTorchStrengthLevel” and “turnOnTorchWithStrengthLevel” are the names of the two new APIs that are related to the flashlight that integrates Android 13. The first one is in charge of show brightness levelwhile the second of it allows us change it from a minimum (1) to a set maximum. Thanks to the discovery of these two APIs, we learned a few months ago that the new version of Android would give the option to modify the brightness of the flashlight.
However, the first tests with Android 13 have been clear: the software does not have a native tool that allows to vary the intensity of the brightness of the flashlight. That does not mean that if your mobile has updated to Android 13, you cannot use this function. And it is that the developers of polodarb have been in charge of creating an app called Flashlight Tiramisu that is dedicated to exactly this task.
As well reported from XDA-Developers, this application has an extremely simple operation. For now, you can download it for free from GitHub through the following link.
If you download it in a Google Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6 either Google Pixel 6ayou will access a bar with a controller that you can move from right to left, and vice versa, to change the intensity of the flashlight. It also works with those Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G they have upgraded to OneUI 5.0where you can choose between five different brightness levels.
As reported XDA-DevelopersFlashlight Tiramisu does not work on all mobiles that have updated to Android 13. For example, it is useless in the OPPO Find X5 Pro, since it does not have the new version of the HAL camera. Therefore, this also limits the likelihood that the brightness level adjustment feature will reach a large number of devices.
If you have a new generation Google Pixel, don’t hesitate to download Flashlight Tiramisu and take advantage of this innovative tool. Also, one of the little-known features of Android 13 is what allows you Quickly turn on the flashlight with just a few gestures.
